Jivaro). I can still remember the first time I saw
Joy. She was a beaming light in an otherwise ordinary room full of young people. I suppose it was her natural smile, she just had one you know. No matter how bad you felt when you entered a room with
Joy Robinson in it, you only had to look at her once and you automatically felt better. She had an ability to see the good in almost everyone.
Joy would talk to even the shyest person, even if you weren’t much of a talker yourself (and I was not). And in that brief moment when she would smile at you and say that she enjoyed your company, you knew she was being honest and sincere, because that is who she was. She was one of the very few persons that I have ever known who accepted folks as they were, without question. I know we all miss her, as my entire family does. I hope this website can keep the essence of who she was alive in each of us, because if it can, then we will all be better off, just for having known her and for remembering
Joy.
By the way, my son Matthew was born on the same birthday as
Joy, January 16th. And my sister Sherry’s middle name is “Lynn”, just as
Joy’s was. No wonder we had so much in common.
